Mark Freeman is director of food and hospitality for LinkedIn where he oversees numerous food operations around the world where food quality, sustainability, and innovation are always top of mind. Feeding employees in the corporate environment has changed over the years and Mark’s constant quest for the next best thing drives his passion. He is a leader, innovator, and disruptor in the corporate foodservice industry. After spending 13 years at Microsoft, where he was the innovative force behind the highly acclaimed and award-winning foodservice program, Mark later moved to the Ford Motor Company where he held the title of Global Strategic Manager for Foodservice. There he drove initiatives to bring an engineering company into the digital age. Prior to that Mark led the Management Advisory Services department for the H. David Porter Consulting firm based in Baltimore, MD. He was also the global program manager for dining services with the Hewlett Packard Company. He is well known as an industry leader with awards such as the IFMA (International Foodservice Manufacturing Association) distinguished Silver Plate, and FE&S (Foodservice Equipment and Supplies) Hall of Fame. He is past president of SHFM (Society for Hospitality and Foodservice Management), has received the Richard Ysmael Distinguished Service Award, and has participated in many foodservice association leadership positions.
